FIFA World Cup 2026 Group Stage Results: How to Follow Live Scores
Following live FIFA World Cup 2026 Live Scoresscores from anywhere in the world is easier than ever in 2026. Multiple platforms provide real-time updates, match stats and live streams. Here is how to stay connected to every result.
THE FIFA OFFICIAL APP
FIFA's official app is the primary source for all tournament information. The FIFA app provides:
Live scores for every match
Real-time statistics: possession, shots, corners, cards
Goal alerts and notifications
Full match lineups
Group tables updated in real time
Knockout bracket updates
Download the FIFA app before June 11. It is free on iOS and Android. Setting up notifications for your favorite teams is the best way to never miss a goal while you are away from a screen.
SPORTS APPS FOR LIVE SCORES
Multiple sports apps offer World Cup live scores.
ESPN App: Live scores, news coverage and some match streaming through ESPN's World Cup coverage.
Google Sports: Search "World Cup score" on Google and a live score widget appears directly in search results. This updates in real time during matches.
Yahoo Sports App: Live scores and match stats for all 104 games.
BBC Sport App: UK-based but covers all World Cup scores globally with excellent match reporting.
FOLLOWING ON SOCIAL MEDIA
X (Twitter) is the fastest platform for breaking news during matches. Goals, cards and controversy hit X before most other platforms. Search the team name or the FIFA World Cup hashtag during a match for instant updates.
FIFA's official accounts on Instagram and Facebook post goal highlights within minutes of them happening. These accounts are excellent for fans who cannot watch live.
HOW TO READ A LIVE SCORE UPDATE
A score showing USA 1 – 0 Paraguay with the match time as 72' means the USA leads 1-0 and the match is in the 72nd minute. The apostrophe indicates minutes played.
If the score shows (2' + 5) it means the match is in the 2nd minute of 5 added stoppage time minutes in the second half.
An asterisk or bold team name indicates which team currently has possession or has just scored.
WATCHING SCORES WITHOUT STREAMING
If you are in a situation where you cannot stream the match (driving, working, in a meeting), most podcast apps and radio apps offer live audio commentary for major World Cup games.
iHeartRadio and TuneIn both carry radio stations broadcasting World Cup commentary. SiriusXM Satellite Radio covers the World Cup across multiple channels for subscribers.
CHECKING SCORES AFTER THE MATCH
If you watched a different game and want to check the result of another match without spoilers, turn on airplane mode before checking social media. Then check the FIFA app or Google directly. This keeps the score clean without seeing reaction posts that reveal the outcome.
THE GROUP TABLE IN REAL TIME
During the group stage, the table updates after every match. The FIFA app and most sports apps show the live table for each group throughout the tournament. After the final group matchday on June 27, the Round of 32 bracket locks in and the knockout stage begins.
